Trastevere
Trastevere is one of Rome's most characteristic neighborhoods. Its name comes from the location where it is, "trans Tiberim" beyond the Tiber River. The area is characterized by winding streets paved with typical cobblestones between old medieval houses with walls discolored. Trastevere is ideal to take a walk and discover the typical flavors of the capital, is easy to find in trattorias and taverns where you can taste the dishes of Roman cuisine. Trastevere is very much alive in the evening, many young people and tourists flock to this area to have a drink or dine in the company in a restaurant or pub. Main meeting point is Piazza Trilussa. Trastevere is also a place full of art. Of particular interest is the basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere.
